As a freelancer it can be difficult to avoid being limited to certain roles and we appreciate this can be frustrating. Our aim is to get to know the freelancers who work with Precise Consultants and help them realise the careers they hope to have. This involves us providing advice on how people may transition into new roles and what courses are available and advantageous to career development. We believe that it is important to continually improve ourselves and our services - so it only fair to allow our freelancers the chance to do the same.
This is the cornerstone of our business, we are fully credit insured with Credit Indemnity & Financial Services (CIFS) acting as our underwriters, which allows us to make our payments on time regardless of any potential extenuating circumstances.
We take complaints about our service very seriously and have our own internal procedures for dealing with them. We will acknowledge your complaint within one working day and inform you on how we will proceed with your complaint. If we cannot answer your complaint within the timeframes provided we will contact you and tell you when you can expect a full response.

You will be paid via electronic bank transfer using Faster Payments or CHAPS depending on the location of your bank account.
If you live outside the UK/Western Europe you may encounter a minor delay in payments being credited into your bank account. This is usually caused by the “clearing banks” the recipient’s bank chooses to use. This is something we cannot control. If you have not received a payment within five days of the expected payment date then please contact our finance team and we will contact our bank to investigate the delay.
Please send any payment queries to accounts@preciseconsultants.com FAO Sami Fehmi or call +44 (0) 203 325 0630.
Our main insurances are Professional Indemnity*, Public & Employers Liability and Business Travel. In addition, we credit insure all of our clients to safeguard your payments. Simply put, if our client doesn’t pay us, our credit insurance underwriter pays us, so we can pay you. Most agencies we have encountered do not have this in place so always check they are financially stable and contractually obliged to pay even if they themselves do not get paid!
*Note this is becoming industry standard but some agencies still do not offer it so if you are working through another agency always check this is included.
As we are NOT a professional services firm and are not regulated by the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) we are unable to offer any formal advice on tax and payroll solutions. We can however, let you know the companies that are used frequently by our other freelancers so that you can contact them directly for further help.
Precise Consultants are flexible enough to tailor our service to your needs. Our clients range from multi-national Oil and Gas companies to niche consultancies. One thing remains the same for all clients, the need for reliable freelance personnel to help them execute their projects. We understand that as a supplier we need to align ourselves with how our clients work and become a useful tool to implement when required.
You tell us what you want and how you want it - then we deliver.
Precise Consultants have developed a process lead system that ensures we deliver a high-quality recruitment solution consistently. A multi-stage competency assessment is completed before freelancers are submitted for work with our clients including self-assessment, formal and informal referencing, this is complimented by a process of gathering and reporting feedback on all placements to ensure we develop an in-depth understanding of the freelance survey personnel who work via Precise Consultants.
Please contact us on team@preciseconsultants.com for more information on these procedures
Typically, we will provide you with between two and five freelancers in a shortlist; though this will be dependent on how specific your requirements are. Some clients like to see a larger pool of freelancers in a shortlist and some just one freelancer. If this is the case, then simply ask your Account Manager.
Precise Consultants’ clients work on projects across the world and we can support them globally. We have an extensive database of freelancers from all corners of the world and are well-versed in logistics required to get personnel to global projects.
Precise Consultants tailor our services per client, some require us to assist with everything from flights to visas and others prefer to handle things internally. We also have access to 24-hour travel support, so in the event of emergencies we can book travel on behalf of our clients - this includes access to marine fares etc.
You will partner with your Account Manager to devise a communication plan to keep in touch effectively; this could be a catch-up call every week or an email update every 10 days, whatever works for you.
Precise Consultants are ISO 9001:2015 and MLC 2006 certified.
We have a credit line in place with ABN AMRO that ensures we can always pay our freelancers on time regardless of the payment terms we agree with a client. In addition, we only work with clients that we can gain full credit insurance on. Simply put, if a client is unable to pay us, our credit insurance underwriter pays us and then seeks the funds of the client who has not paid. This ensures that we are financially robust.

Whilst it is difficult for hydrographic surveyors to start work in the hydrographic survey industry without any prior experience we have been able to assist in securing summer internships and trainee hydrographic surveyor positions with our client base. It’s an excellent way for graduates to get a taste of the offshore industry and for our clients to get an extra pair of helping hands when the summer season is in full swing.
Please contact us on team@preciseconsultants.com to discuss this further
